Our Flag (part 1)

From watching the British in the Baltimore port
And the Civil War taking the nation to court
I covered a hero, one or two,
I am still flying red, white, and blue.
The eagle flew low, but now riding high
Proud again in the American blue sky
A new leader is with us, we are no longer shy
Unfurl me, wave me and let me fly.
In the Pacific on that tiny island ground
And in that big city, New York downtown
A makeshift pole was my home of glory
And now we can tell the rest of my story
The eagle flew low but is now riding high
Proud again in the American blue sky
A new leader is among us we are no longer shy
Unfurl me, wave me and let me fly.
May the Lord above lead and protect him
May his wisdom be shown and not disrespect him
A new leader is among us we are no longer shy
Unfurl me, wave me and let me fly
